FCP was started out of a desire to be creative. I taught myself to sew and make bags with no prior experience. This journey gave me the encouragement to pursue tough challenges and persevere when the roadblocks seemed impossible to overcome.
I love having the opportunity to bring functional art to those who aren't afraid to wear their personality on their sleeves. From backpacks and courier bags to tote bags and classic musettes, I aim to bring bulletproof bags to the people of the world that will age gracefully with you whether you treat your stuff like my wife, which is to say with the utmost respect, or like me, who is too busy chasing his tail to worry if there is a puddle of mud underneath my bag.
Bring me your fun concepts for designs and special modifications and I'll do what I can to make it a reality. If I can't, I promise to tell you why and point you in the direction of someone who can. While I still put in the hours, FCP is no longer my full time gig, so be patient. I have a wife and a toddler that keep me busy and command my time. I try to be honest about how available I am for custom jobs but sometimes things aren't lined up quite right. Communication is key so let me know if there is a hard deadline I need to be aware of.
Otherwise, let's have fun! Each bag is hand cut and sewn in my Lakewood studio and I welcome you to make an appointment to come see the space and look at specialty and vintage fabrics I have squirreled away. I am so grateful of all of you who have been with me from the beginning or are just learning about Forest City Portage.
